It shall be the duty of the President to preside at all regular and special Booster meetings and Board meetings. The president shall perform all of the duties of the office, shall appoint all committees and committee chairpersons and shall be an ex-officio member of all committees except the nomination committee. The President or Treasurer shall also sign all contracts, checks, and disbursements, subject to the approval or ratification of the Board. The President shall be able to disburse funds up to $1000.00 with the approval of one other Board member. The President shall have regular meetings with the school principal and music staff as determined by the group.
The Vice President shall act as President in the event of the absence or temporary incapacity of the President. The Vice President shall assume duties of the President for the balance of the term if the Presidency is vacated for any reason. The Vice President's line of succession shall be as designated by a majority vote of the Board, should this become necessary.
It shall be the duty of the Recording Secretary to keep a record of all regular and special Booster meetings, and all Board meetings. It shall also be the duty of the Recording Secretary to maintain a procedure book which is a record of the activities of the Boosters compiled into a permanent form. The Secretary will provide to the Boosters a copy of the minutes of meetings within thirty (30) days of the Board Meeting.
It shall be the duty of the Corresponding Secretary to conduct the correspondence of the Boosters, keep a list of the membership's current addresses, send out all notices when not hereinafter provided for and send special letters unless otherwise provided for in the standing rules. A sustaining membership program shall be maintained and regular reports will be given to the treasurer.
It shall be the duty of the Treasurer to receive all moneys due to the Boosters and deposit same in a place approved by the Boosters. The Treasurer shall disburse funds of the Boosters only for purposes approved by the Board. The Treasurer shall maintain records of all special disbursements.
It shall be the duty of the Chairperson of the Fundraising Committee to manage all fundraising activities and all volunteers working under this committee chairperson. This Chairperson should also monitor the value of various fundraising activities to keep this activity highly beneficial to the band program students.
It shall be the duty of the Chairperson of the Chaperones Committee to provide adults to be with the band at all functions and to provide for any special needs that may arrive. This committee will work with the Band Director to arrange safe transportation for the students and their equipment.
