General Information
The Winterguard ensemble is a color guard activity that runs from late Fall through the Spring. Participants perform and compete indoors to recorded music. Each Winterguard show is based around a theme that is presented through creative choreography and costumes using flags, throwing rifles, and sabers. The Winterguard is open to any interested student, membership being determined by audition during November. This ensemble belongs to the Atlantic Indoor Association (www.aia.org) and participates in AIA sanctioned events, including championships. This will be the fourth year for this ensemble. There is a fee for participants.
For the 2008 season, the WFRHS Winterguard will compete as part of the WFRHS Winter Drumline.
2008 Competition Dates
The WFR Winterguard will compete at the following events during the 2008 season. All competitions are listed on the WFR Band Calendar.
- 9 February 2008 - Winterfest at West Johnston High School, Benson, NC.
- 1 March 2008 - Clayton High School
- The WFRHS will be performing at 12:50PM. Percussion awards are at 2:30pm. To view show information, click here.
