Students in the Class of 2010 and beyond must pass the Graduation Project to exit high school (Please click here to gain a better understanding of the NC High School Exit Standards.)
The Graduation Project, as mandated by the State, requires complete, in-depth research that will result in a paper, product, portfolio and presentation. The project will be developed, monitored, and scored locally using state guidelines.
The graduation project will include:
WF-RHS Graduation Project Timeline
By the end of the 9th Grade:
• Learn the Graduation Project requirements
• Learn the Basic Research Skills
• Practice Oral Presentation Skills
• Think about a Graduation Project Idea of interest to you
By the end of the 10th Grade:
• Continue to learn Basic Research and Oral Presentation Skills as well as Technology Skills
• Meet with your Graduation Project Advisor to begin the process
• Begin to create a Portfolio
By the end of the 11th Grade:
• Continue to Research your Topic and develop Oral Presentation and Technology Skills
• Begin to prepare your Research Paper
• Secure a mentor and log hours
• Finalize Product idea
• Continue Portfolio compilation
By the end of 12th grade:
• Continue to Research your Topic and develop Oral Presentation and Technology Skills
• Complete Portfolio
• Create a Product
• Finalize your Paper
• Present your Graduation Project to a Panel
